By Correspondent

UDALGURI, Aug 27 - The Assam State Committee of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is all set to contest in all the 40 constituencies of the Bodoland Territorial Area Districts (BTAD) elections to be held next year. This was indicated by Kishore Upadhyaya, secretary of the state committee of the national ruling party. He observed this in a hurriedly convened press meet here at Udalguri district BJP office recently.

Upadhyaya further said that the BJP has been able to build up a very convincing stronghold in the entire BTAD region and now it is time to listen to the clarion call of the people of the region for radical change for speedy development and permanent peace in the region. Replying to the questions of mediapersons on the role played by Naba Sarania, the Independent MP from Kokrajhar LS seat, the BJP leader said that Sarania is not at all a factor for the BJP in the BTAD region as people have been witnessing great changes taking place in the entire country under the bold leadership of Prime Minister Narendra Modi.

Meanwhile, Ajay Hazarika, general secretary of Udalguri district committee of BJP told this correspondent that the district BJP has already succeeded in adding to its fold 60,000 members recently and now the party has geared up to enrol 5,000 members in each mandal and there are plans to enrol more members in all ten constituencies of BTC under Udalguri district.
