SILCHAR, Sept 8 In a strong reaction against the alleged attempts to allure the voters of Silchar to vote for the Congress candidate Arun Dutta Mazumder by PHE Minister Gautam Roy, the Bharatiya Janata Party district unit has demanded that the minister should be expelled from the State for blatant violation of the Model Code of Conduct.

Pradyut Bora, national executive member of the party said that the party has made a complaint in writing to the Election observer and also to the Central Election Commission about the misdeeds of the PHE Minister which is polluting the political environment. Corruption comes blowing siren in Barak Valley, Bora said. He informed that the observer has assured that the district administration is keeping a close eye on the movements and activities of the minister and action will be taken if any evidence is brought to notice.

Sudhangshu Mittal, partys poll observer for Assam said that the BJP top brass is already in the valley to campaign for the candidates. Sports and Youth Affairs Minister Sarbananda Sonowal is here among the people of Lakhipur and Rameshwar Teli and Kamkhya Tasa, the two MPs are also wooing the voters in the poll-bound constituencies. He also informed that Manoj Tiwari, MP from Delhi will visit the constituencies on September 9 and Manoj Sinha, the MoS Railways will be here on September 10 to speak on the forthcoming mega block about which a lot of rumours and fear is being injected by the Congress party. Nand Kishore Yadav will sum up the campaign on September 11, Mittal said.

Referring to the commitments of wiping out the illegal Bangladeshi infiltrators from the soil of Assam, Mittal said that the NDA Government is well aware of the situation in Assam and particularly in Barak Valley and has adopted a three-pronged strategy to send them outside the country. He was quick to slam AIUDF supremo Maulana Badruddin Ajmal saying Ajmals communal politics is detrimental to the interest of the people. He is encouraging the settlement of the illegal Bangladeshis here which must be stopped. He also mentioned that the NDA Government is making arrangements to prove the Hindu refugees Indian citizenship who came to India being victims of social persecution.
