GUWAHATI, April 3 - President of the Assam Pradesh Congress Committee (APCC), Anjan Dutta, today said that the Congress has given a facelift to the economic condition of the State since it took over the reins from the Asom Gana Parishad (AGP) in 2001.
Dutta also accused the BJP of misleading the people with fake promises and some tampered facts.
I do not need to remind the people of Assam about the misrule of Asom Gana Parishad. Now it seems ridiculous that AGP is allying with BJP to build a new Assam. I hope the people of Assam will understand the reality and will not get misled by these, said the APCC chief in a statement.
Criticising Prime Minister Narendra Modi, Dutta said that the BJP-led NDA government at the Centre had taken a U-turn on at least 180 promises during the last 23 months in governance.
What about the promises of bringing back black money within 100 days? Narendra Modi had promised to bring back the black money, but now he seems to have forgotten.
On the issue of hike in the prices of life saving drugs, Dutta said, The prices of at least 74 life savings drugs were hiked. Is this their welfare? The BJP only works for the corporate bodies.
