BJP flays Cong over personal attacks

By Staff Reporter

GUWAHATI, Nov 19 - The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), Assam Pradesh, today came down heavily on the ruling Congress for making the BJP leaders the target of its personal attacks. The saffron party alleged that the Congress, which has lost its base with the common people, is now resorting to cheap politics like launching personal attacks on the BJP leaders.

The BJP also slammed the Tarun Gogoi Government for its alleged failure on all fronts and going back on its promises made to the electorate. The party maintained that the Congress has been exposed now, and that the electorate can no more tolerate the misdeeds of the Tarun Gogoi Government that has no compassion for common peoples issues.

State BJP spokesperson Jiten Sarma said that the Congress, realising that it is going to be ousted from power in the Assembly elections in 2016, has started behaving in a manner that can be described as maniacal. Sarma alleged that the Congress has always played politics with religion, but keeps blaming the BJP.

Sarma also criticised the Tarun Gogoi Government for not cooperating with the Central Government. Sarma further said that many Congress members, including its top leaders, have seen through the hollowness of the Tarun Gogoi Government and have joined the BJP, realising that the BJP is the alternative to the Congress.

Witnessing the mass desertion by its supporters, the Tarun Gogoi Government is now terribly scared and this fear is one of the reasons for its erratic behaviour of late. The Government, instead of focusing on issues of the common people, is now targeting the BJP leaders, said Sarma, adding that the Congress must stop making false promises to the electorate.
