GUWAHATI, April 7 - The Assam unit of the BJP today filed a police complaint against Supreme Court advocate Upamanyu Hazarika, who is contesting as an Independent candidate in the Lok Sabha election from Guwahati constituency, on charges of trespassing into one of their election offices and stealing some important document.
The BJP election office is located under Noonmati Police Station area.
According to Assistant Commissioner of Police Pallav Tamuli, the BJP in the police complaint alleged that Hazarika entered the party election office premises when no party worker was present and stole some important document.
The BJP filed the complaint after Hazarika did a live stream on social media from the BJP election office this morning. An official of Noonmati Police Station said they will carry out an investigation over the matter soon. Hazarika is the convener of anti-infiltration body Prabrajan Virodhi Manch.
