SILCHAR, Jan 5 After the euphoric results in Maharashtra, Haryana and Jharkhand, the Bharatiya Janata Party is all set to dethrone the Congress Government in Assam in the 2016 Assembly elections. Eying the much talked about Mission 84, the BJP began its poll preparation from Silchar, which the party believes is the epicentre of the saffron camp in the region.
Addressing a public rally at the Narisingtola field recently, BJPs Assam observer, Dr Mahendra Singh threw a challenge at the Congress Government saying stop the golden run of the Modi Government if you have the guts. Lashing out hard at the Tarun Gogoi-led Congress Government for the gruesome killings in Kokhrajhar, Singh said with the way people are being killed, it seems blood is cheaper in the Sthan salt. He was quick to allege that it is the Congress which has been nourishing terrorism for decades in the country and also has looted the people giving illusive promises which the BJP Government will not allow any further. He reminded the people that the Modi Government is committed to bring back the black money stashed in the foreign banks.
Meanwhile, over 200 people including some of the popular Congress leaders including the vice chairman of the recently dissolved local civic board Bijendra Prasad Singh, former ward commissioner Binoy Krishna Das, Pradip Paul and others joined the BJP. The new entrants were greeted in the party by the Assam observer and other party leaders.
