GUWAHATI, June 22 - The State unit of the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) today stressed the need for providing a corruption-free and transparent Government to the people of the State.
The BJP State executive, in a meeting chaired by Chief Minister Sarbananda Sonowal, adopted a resolution assuring the people of the State to provide �good governance�. The meeting decided that despite facing severe financial crunch, the BJP-led Government would make its best efforts to implement all the points included in its vision document released before the elections.
State BJP spokesman Rupam Goswami said that the meeting reviewed the 100-day programme of the Government and blamed the previous Congress government for the present financial crunch faced by the State. The meeting also decided that the Government would take effective steps for improving the public distribution system and to give a boost to agriculture and allied sectors. The meeting also stressed the need for taking effective steps for the revival of the sick industries.
The State BJP also thanked the people of the State for voting it to power.
