GAURIPUR, Dec 11 - Under the auspices of Ramakrishna Sarada Sangha here, the birth anniversary of Ma Saradamani, wife of Ramakrishna Paramahansadev was observed on December 9 at the premises of the Sangha with a day-long programme.
After a cleanliness drive, usha kirtan was performed in the morning. Puja rituals were held where a large number of devotees took part. Dr Saradindu Banerjee, a national awardee teacher participated in the programme and explained the contributions of Ma Saradamani by surmounting all odds in her life. The devotees subsequently offered anjali and attended the bhog prasad distribution programme.
On the auspicious occasion, 28 blankets were distributed among the needy people of the area. Naam kirtan was held in the evening. The tithi of Ma Saradamani was also observed in the Dhubri Ramakrishna Mission and Ramakrishna Sevashram at Golakganj with various devotional programmes.
