Bike stolen in Jorhat

JORHAT, May 30 - Continuing with the spree of vehicle thefts, burglary and incidents of snatchings, a motorbike owned by a youth studying in a polytechnic institute here was reportedly stolen on Tuesday night from the campus of his rented house on Dewal Road.

A police source said that Ankurjyoti Mohan, a resident of Sivasagar district, in his complaint lodged at the Jorhat Police Station, said that his motorcycle bearing registration number AS-04-R-7347 was stolen on Tuesday night.

It may be mentioned here that in the past four months, there has been an increase in incidents of thefts in shops, lifting of vehicles along with incidents of snatching of bags containing cash and also mobile handsets from pedestrians and pillion-riders by motorbike-borne youths in and around the town.
