GUWAHATI, May 9 � After being served two summon notices by the city police in the span of a fortnight, Assam Cricket Association (ACA) general secretary Bikash Baruah finally reported to city police last evening and was thoroughly interrogated.
Baruah is facing charges of facilitating publication of a morphed photograph in various newspapers, showing him alongside Kolkata Knight Riders owner Shahrukh Khan and actress Deepika Padukone.
Two cases have been registered against Baruah, each in Latasil and Paltan Bazaar police stations.
Police said Baruah, after being served the first summon letter, was given an extended time as he was stated to be ill.
Senior Superintendent of Police (City) AP Tiwari said, �Baruah reported to us yesterday and he was questioned thoroughly in connection with the case.�
Meanwhile, sources said that the photograph was doctored by some other persons at the behest of Baruah, who will also be questioned to unearth the truth. Baruah, it may be mentioned, was untraceable after the case was reported and later secured interim bail from the Gauhati High Court.
