GUWAHATI, Sept 10 - The Srimanta Sankardev International Cultural Centre in London is planning to celebrate Bhupendra Sangeet Diwas on September 19 with the initiative of a London-based NRI, Dr Karuna Sagar Das, stated a press release. A programme is planned at the Chalvey Community Centre.
It�s an initiative to pay tribute to Dr Bhupen Hazarika on his birth anniversary. Noted artists from different countries will be seen performing at the programme.
Dawor Hazarika, nephew of Dr Bhupen Hazarika, will be present on the occasion. Padmashri Surya Hazarika, vice-chairman of the Srimanta Sankardeva Kalakshetra, Guwahati, will also be present as the guest of honour in the event.
