GUWAHATI, Sept 7 - The ambitious Dr Bhupen Hazarika Mukali Mancha Aru Udyan scheme undertaken by the Panchayat and Rural Development Department under the Chief Ministers Dream Project will be formally inaugurated tomorrow on the occasion of the birth anniversary of the music maestro.

Speaking to reporters at the State Secretariat here today, Panchayat and Rural Development Minister Rakibul Hussain said that all 219 blocks across Assam will be covered under the project.

Work in 198 blocks have been completed. However, the inauguration ceremonies will be held only at 187 blocks as locals in the remaining 11 blocks have asked the Government to delay the inauguration on account of the floods.

Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi will formally inaugurate the project at Boko Development Block tomorrow and similar ceremonies will also be held at other places across the State.

Hussain said that the parks and stages developed under the project will be maintained by the Anchalik Panchayats and they are intended not only to preserve the memory of Dr Hazarika and pay tribute to him, but also to provide cultural

organisations and artistes the necessary infrastructure to display their talent.
