Bhimajuli massacre victim succeeds in HS exam

By Correspondent

BISWANATH CHARIALI, June 28 - On October 4, 2009 a tragic incident took place at Bhimajuli along the Assam-Arunachal border in Biswanath district where NDFB ultras had killed 14 people in indiscriminate firing. Krishnamani Borahs mother, Junu Borah and sister Dulumani Borah were killed in front of her eyes by bullets from the gun of a marauding NDFB member.

After this incident, Krishnamanis grandfather took her to his house as after receiving money as compensation, her father had remarried and abandoned her. However, Krishnamani continued her studies under the supervision of her grandparents Suren Hazarika and Moni Hazarika and an uncle without any hesitation. Krishnamani has achieved remarkable success in the results of the recently-announced Higher Secondary Final Examination, securing 74 per cent in the aggregate and letter marks in Assamese and Education. It may be mentioned here that she had passed the HSLC Examination in the year 2016 in first division with letter marks in two subjects.

According to Krishnamani, the incident took place in 2009 due to lack of adequate police force at Balichang, Bhimajuli. Therefore, she hopes to join the police service so that she could serve the people. Of course, she realises that this dream will not be easy to achieve due to financial difficulties.
