Bhatri Sangha win soccer title

JAGIROAD, Dec 7 - Sapmari Bhatri Sangha emerged champions to lift the Sushil Bora Memorial Football Trophy.

In the final played today at the Jagi Kalpataru Puthibharal playground, under Mayong Circle, Sapmari Bhatri Sangha defeated Dibyajyoti Club, Bhalukaguri 3-2.

Rakesh Bora of Bhatri Sangha broke the deadlock in the 18th minute through Paban Bordoloi while he increased the margin in the 24th minute. Budhi Bordoloi of Dibyajyoti scored twice in the 37th and 54th minute respectively to draw parity.

The all important goal was scored by Paban Bordoloi in the 65th minute. Messi of Bhatri Sangha was adjudged the best player of the final.

Former Chief Minister Prafulla Kumar Mahanta, former minister Bubul Das, Morigaon District Sports Association office bearers Munindra Bangthai, Ramen Nath and Jayanta Deka were the guests in the closing function and they gave away the trophies. The tournament was organised by the Jagi Kalpataru Puthibharal and Krishti Chora in which eight teams took part.
