IMPHAL, July 5 � The Board of Control for Cricket in India (BCCI), a national governing body for cricket in India will extend all help in becoming Manipur Cricket Association (MCA) a full fledged member of the Board. This was disclosed by BCCI secretary Anurag Singh Thakur during a day-long visit to Manipur on Sunday.
Thakur, who is also the national president of the BJP Yuva Morcha was here to attend a youth programme at BJP Manipur Pradesh office in Imphal besides inspecting the Luwangpokpa cricket ground, the State�s well developed cricket ground at Khabam Lampkhai near Imphal where the MCA officials submitted a memorandum to the visiting BCCI secretary.
Speaking at a gathering during the cricket ground inspection session, the BCCI secretary said, �We can discuss about the proposals in the upcoming Board meeting. The day is not far from now-Manipur Cricket Association could be one of the full fledged member if it meets ICC (International Cricket Council) guidelines.�
Stating that only few associations (under BCCI) are doing well, the visiting BJP leader also informed that BCCI wants more centres across the country.
