BARPETA, July 6 � The Barpeta Law College has refuted reports of its fake existence and termed the allegation as false and malicious. In a press release issued here by Dr PC Dash, the authority made it clear that the college has the permission and affiliation of Gauhati University and the Bar Council of India, which are still valid for both the three years and five years LLB course as it is granted upto the academic year 2014-15. The authority also stated that they have applied for the permission and the affiliation for 2015-16 academic year and the reply is awaited.
The college authority regretted that reports in a section of the press claimed that the recognition of the college had expired way back in 2011-12. They allayed the fear of the students and requested them not to give credence to such malicious reports.
It must be mentioned here that the Barpeta Law College, which was established in 1972, was provided extension of approval of affiliation by the Bar Council of India on July 21, 2014.
