Barekuri FA emerge champs

DULIAJAN, Dec 27 - Barekuri Football Academy clinched the title in the Duliajan Football Academy organised 4th OIL-DFA Inter Academy Invitational Football Tournament. In the final played at the Nehru Maidan here today, the Barekuri boys edged past Kakopathar Football Coaching Centre by a solitary goal. Man-of-the-Match Biswakanta Mahanta netted the match winner. Dipu Gohain of Barekuri and Biswajit Moran of Kakopathar were adjudged best player and best goalkeeper of the tournament respectively.

In the closing function, Dilip Kumar Bhuyan, Chief General Manager (PA) OIL was the chief guest. Other OIL officers � Dr Shyama Baruah, GM Admin; Subhra Ranjan Samaddar, GM Logistics; Parag Gogoi, DGM Security; Bhaskar Jyoti Bora, Secretary, IOWU; among others were present on the occasion as guest of honours.

Sportspersons who represented the State in various events were also felicitated in the closing function. The championship was organised by the Duliajan Football Academy and supported by Oil India Limited where 12 teams from Dibrugarh and Tinsukia district took part.
