Barak youth bags national award

SILCHAR, Aug 14 - In what could be called a glorious achievement, 25-year-old Kh. Krishna Mohan Singha, a young lad from Kachudaram under Lakhipur subdivision of Cachar district received the National Youth Award 2016-17 by the Ministry of Youth Affairs and Sports, Government of India.

Krishna Mohan, the only recipient of the award from Assam was among the 20 awardees across the country. He received the award from Kiren Rijiju, Union Minister for Youth Affairs and Sports on August 12 at New Delhi.

Sharing his joy with the The Assam Tribune on Tuesday, Krishna Mohan said, �it is a moment of great inspiration for me to receive the prestigious award. I wish to organise a Youth Parliament for the students and young talents of south Assam and I shall write to the concerned authorities for helping the cause.�

It may be mentioned that Krishna Mohan is a recipient of Yuva Puraskar award by Sahitya Akademi in 2017.
