GUWAHATI, Feb 25 � In two group league matches of the Star Cement ASJA Media T20 Cricket Tournament at the Nehru Stadium here today, Barak Upatyaka Krira Sangbadik Sangathan (BUKSS) earned a four-wicket victory against hosts Assam Sports Journalists (ASJA) while media Management team trounced Guwahati Media XI by 35 runs.

In a well contested first match of the day ASJA notched up 119 for seven in the stipulated 20 overs. Tauhid Ali Talukdar (39) and Kausav Baruah (31) were their leading scorers while Sanjiv Singh came out with a four-wicket haul.

Chasing the modest target, the Barak team hit up 120 for the loss of six wickets with eight balls to spare. Abhijit Deb (40) and Sanjeev Chandra (37) were notable contributors for the visiting team.

The second encounter saw an easy win for the Madia Management team as, piling up 138 for one in 20 overs they restricted the opponent for 103. The highlight of the match was an unbeaten 71 off 59 balls by Jagjit Singh of the winning team.
