GUWAHATI, June 16 � Subrata Das Gupta (35), a suspected Bangladeshi national, believed to be living in India since 1993, was today arrested by police from Milanpur area here.

Das Gupta is a resident of Teotagram village under Shivalaya PS of Manikganj district in Bangladesh. Police told The Assam Tribune that he had completed his HS from Debendra College in Bangladesh in 1992.

�Sensing threat to his life during the Hindu-Muslim clash (Ram Janambhoomi), he illegally crossed the border and entered India via West Bengal. He came to Assam in 2002,� police said.
