JORHAT, April 3 - The Jorhat district administration by an order issued by the district magistrate today under Section 144 of the CrPC, has prohibited sale and purchase of slush/liquid gur (lali gur) in the district. The order has been issued to curb preparation of illicit liquor by unscrupulous elements by using lali gur. Anyone seeking to buy lali gur to be used in cattle fodder will have to take prior permission from the administration.
