MIRZA, Oct 1 - The Kamrup district administration has imposed Section 144 of CrPC in the district, banning illegal mining and transportation of stone and sand from the rivers with effect from September 28, stated a press release issued by Lucky Biswas, Kamrup District Information and Public Relations Officer (DIPRO), on Wednesday.
According to the Kamrup district administration, the illegal transportation of stone and sand from the rivers has been causing damage to life and properties of the citizens and so it has imposed a ban on the illegal trade.
The district administration also said that trucks loaded with stones and sand from the rivers have contributed to several accidents during the night. The trucks have also been polluting the environment across the district.
