JAGIROAD, Feb 24 � Bamfor Volleyball Club emerged champions and lifted the Prabin Kumar Borthakur and Aswini Kumar Gohain Memorial Jagiroad Inter Club Volleyball Trophy for the second time.
In the final played today at the Jagiroad Sports Association ground here, the Bamfor boys defeated Jagiroad College Volleyball team 3-1 (25-19, 25-18, 22-25, 25-21). Rupam Daimary of Bamfor was declared as the best player of the tournament.
The tournament was organised by the Jagiroad Sports Association in which 8 teams took part. Earlier, Bibekanada Doloi, Parliamentary Secretary (Vet), who is also the president of the association, inaugurated the final match. Bani Borthakur and Renu Gogoi Gohain gave away the trophies and cash awards to the winning participants.
