MANGALDAI, Jan 6 - Partha Protim Saharia got the better of Surajit Sarkar 21-14, 25-23 to lift the U-15 boys title while in the U-15 girls category, Juman Nishi Hazarika emerged champion defeating Nisha Mani Deka 21-13, 21-10 in the Jibo Deka and Renu Deka Memorial District Level Inter School Boys and Girls Prize Money Badminton Tournament which concluded on Saturday evening at the Lokapriya Gopinath Bordoloi Indoor Stadium.
The tournament was organised under the aegis of the Mangaldai Club and the Darrang District Badminton Association.
After the final of the three-day tournament which saw the participation of 72 young shuttlers, Mangaldai MLA Gurujyoti Das; Deputy Commissioner, Darrang, Ashok Kr Barman; Mangaldai Municipal Board chairman Pratap Bordoloi and Assam Badminton Association treasurer Badan Ch Bora gave away the prizes to the winners in presence of the office bearers of the organisers � the Mangaldai Club.
Other champions: Rekib Raja (Boys upto Class VI), Lipsita Choudhury (Girls upto Class IV) and Sandilya Sharma (Boys upto Class IV).
