Badarpur school donates Rs 11,000 for Kerala flood

BADARPUR, Aug 27 - The students and teachers of Maharshi Sandipan Vidyapith School here have contributed a sum of Rs 11,755 for the victims of the devastating floods in Kerala.

The school organised a combined celebration of Guru Purnima, Sri Krishna Jhulan Purnima and Raksha Bandhan on August 25.

On the occasion, the school organised a fund collection programme to help the victims of the devastating flood in the southern state of Kerala. Teachers and students contributed as per their capability, and a sum of Rs 11,755 was collected by the end of the programme.

Talking to this correspondent, Principal Pinku Malakar said, �The floods of Kerala has been really painful for us. So, as a tribute to those who lost their lives as well as property in the floods, we wanted to lend a helping hand by contributing this amount, as per our capability.

�Our school really feels proud of our students for their initiative, and what they could realise and feel about the present situation in Kerala. Our school is praying to God, for the people of Kerala, so that they can overcome the situation as soon as possible,� he said.
