GUWAHATI, June 1 - On the occasion of World No Tobacco Day on Wednesday, city-based Narayana Superspecialty Hospital, in association with Narayana Multispecialty Hospital, Howrah and Deepsikha Foundation, organised a series of streetplays to create awareness about the ill-effects of tobacco consumption.
The streetplays were performed at different locations across the city including Adabari Bus Stand, Fancy Bazar, Paltan Bazar, Ganeshguri, Six Mile and Panbazar.
The North East Cancer Hospital and Research Institute (NECHRI), Jorabat also observed World No Tobacco Day on Wednesday wherein several doctors and other speakers spoke on the ill-effects of tobacco consumption.
The NECHRI authorities also took out a procession to create awareness against tobacco consumption, in which several hundred local people took part.
