KALAIGAON, Aug 20 - Biraj Barua took over charge as the new Revenue Circle Officer at Kalaigaon recently.
He took charge from DN Hazarika on August 17 at the Kalaigaon Revenue Circle office. Earlier, he was serving at Dhakuakhana Revenue Circle. On the other hand, DN Hazarika has been promoted and posted as the SDO (Civil) at Bhergaon. A welcome-cum-farewell meeting was held at the premises of Kalaigaon Revenue Circle Office where staff of the office recalled the contributions of DN Hazarika.
A large number of speakers thanked Hazarika for his outstanding service at Kalaigaon on socio-economic front , beside civil administration activities during the last five years. On the other hand, the office staff welcomed new CO Biraj Barua.
At another ceremony, the Gaonburha Association also bade farewell to Hazarika before welcoming Biraj Barua. Karun Chandra Deka, adviser to the Gaonburha Association in his speech requested all the Gaonburhas to work hard for the conservation of nature and wildlife in their respective villages in a bid to curb illegal poaching and to create awareness among the villagers against witch-hunting, illegal trafficking and superstitions.
