IMPHAL, Feb 9 � A separate Directorate of Ayush has been created in Manipur following a Cabinet decision on January 15 this year, Director of Ayush department Dr Karam Lokendro announced at a press meet here yesterday.
Dr Lokendro stated that within three months, it is targetted that the department will start operating in full-swing by completing the process of separation from the parent department, i.e., State Health Directorate. He also informed that the newly constructed 50-bedded Ayush hospital at Lamphel would be functional.
The activities of the Directorate will include implementation of the National Ayush Mission, establishment of Ayush-based educational institution, creation of herbal garden, herbal treatment centres, etc., he added.
