Ayursundra launches gastro centre

GUWAHATI, Dec 12 - Ayursundra Superspeciality Hospital today launched its Advanced Centre for Gastrointestinal & Digestive Sciences (GIDS) and two diagnostic centres at Beltola, Guwahati and in Barpeta in the presence of Ambassador of the Netherlands to India Alphonsus Stoelinga, Jan Willem, Chairman, Ayursundra BV and Maarten R Scholten, Director, Ayursundra BV.

On the occasion, the founding stone was also laid for a hospital in Jorhat.

Speaking at the launch event, Dr Himadri Shankar Barthakur, Director, Ayursundra Healthcare Pvt Ltd and Executive Director, Ayursundra Superspeciality Hospital, said, �People living across the north-eastern States have been looking for speciality healthcare services and facilities nearer to them. We are and will remain focused on our vision of providing advanced and world-class patient care services and facility while keeping the cost of services affordable.�

By bringing in the largest FDI from the Netherlands in the healthcare sector in the North-east, Ayursundra Superspeciality Hospital is making the way for sustainable global investments to the region. The Netherlands-based Ayursundra BV, the hospital�s parent organisation, is planning to continue to invest further (25 million Euros) for fulfilling long-term healthcare needs of Assam, Barthakur said.

Through GIDS, Ayusundra Superspeciality Hospital plans to provide advanced clinical evaluation, state-of-the-art endoscopy suites, enhanced patient safety and strict disinfection protocols. Equipped to provide end-to-end gastro and digestive sciences-related care under one roof, GIDS will be supported by experienced gastrointestinal (GI) surgeons, interventional radiologist, GI pathologist, ICU specialist and anaesthesiologists.
