GUWAHATI, Aug 26 � Arjuna Award winning athlete Awishini Nachappa will be the chief guest in the 28th edition of Abhiruchi Sports Day�s central function here on September 3.
The chairman of the organising committee Balendra Mohan Chakravorty informed that the former international athlete has consented to be present on the occasion and she will lead the mass jogging which will start at the Chandmari flyover at 6.15 am that day. The organisers are expecting several thousand of participate, particularly school children and noted sportspersons. Along with mass jogging, inter-school group dance and group PT competition will be held at the Tarun Ram Phookan Indoor Stadium on the occasion. Sportspersons will also be honoured by the organisers.
