GUWAHATI, Feb 10 - The Indian Association of Dermatologists, Venereologists and Leprologists (IADVL) carried out a series of awareness drive in Gauhati Commerce College, Cotton University, Handique Girls' College, B Barooah College and SB Deorah College here today.
According to a statement issued by IADVL, the aim of the awareness drive is to eliminate myths and stigmas associated with diseases like Leprosy and Vitiligo.
�Patients with Psoriasis and even Acne suffer from depression due to their disease and they need proper consultation and care. Another important aspect that we have to focus on is the rampant use of over-the-counter steroid creams for most skin diseases, without prescriptions,� the statement said.
On Monday, the organisation will take out a bike rally here as part of the awareness drive.
