Awareness camp at Lumding

LUMDING, Dec 2 � A day-long awareness camp on �Pratibandhi� (physically-impaired) was organised by Jeevanjyoti Welfare Society (NGO), Lumding in collaboration with Srimanta Sankar Mission, North East at Scout and Guide Hall, Lumding on November 26.

Pramila Kandali, member secretary District Welfare Society, Nagaon, Swapon Kar, MLA, Lumding Constituency, Maya Chakraborty, president district committee (Cong-I), Balladev Sharma, secretary Sri Sankardev Mission, Ranjit Chakraborty and Tutu Acharjee, president and secretary respectively of Jeevanjyoti (NGO), Lumding, Manik Dey, chairman, Municipal Board, Lumding, among others, were present in the meeting.

All of them discussed about the pathetic condition of the disabled and physically-impaired persons along with the remedies. They also discussed about various schemes of Govt of Assam which might help to a large extent.

More than 250 physically-impaired persons were present in the camp. A medical board was also installed there in the camp to find out the percentage of the disabled physically-impaired persons.

Lastly, Poonam Bhowmick performed a dance while the entire function was conducted by Jeevanjyoti Welfare Society (NGO), Lumding.
