NORTH LAKHIMPUR, Sept 28 - Ace Satriya dance exponent and instructor of classical dances like Kathak and other folk dances, as well as State award-winning teacher from Laluk Vanlalbuana was feted by All Assam Students� Union at the Swahid Bhavan at Laluk on Thursday.
He was felicitated by Rubul Baruah, president of AASU�s Harmutty unit, Seemantajyoti Neog, president of North Lakhimpur sub-divisional unit of AASU and others.
A Mizo by descent, Vanlalbuana has been living in Laluk since his childhood and is a prominent cultural practitioner associated with the promotion of all traditional forms of folk dances in Lakhimpur district. A recognised Satriya dance artiste of Doordarshan-Guwahati since 2000, Vanlalbuana is an Assistant Teacher at Merbil ME School, Harmutty in Lakhimpur. He has been active with various State and national-level cultural programmes since quite long. He was awarded the State Teacher�s Award in 2018.
Today, Vanlalbuana inaugurated the inter-school theme dance competition based on folk forms organised by Lakhimpur district Education Department under nine education Blocks.
