GUWAHATI, Aug 30 - City-based Assam Down Town University (ADTU) has instituted the �ADTU Award of Excellence in School Teaching� with a view to encouraging teachers in the academic field.
Out of 29 applications received from all over Assam, Ghanashyam Medhi from Assam Jatiya Bidyalaya, Noonmati, has been selected for the award, which will be presented on September 5 at a function to be held at ADTU, Panikhaiti.
The award consists of a citation and a cash prize of Rs 1 lakh. The selection committee was headed by Dr Homeswar Goswami, head of the Department of Management, ADTU and co-chairman Apurba Sharma.
