GOLAGHAT, April 29 � Dr Hem Bora, a prominent writer, novelist and poet and former professor of Golaghat Debraj Roy College will be conferred the late Lalit Barua Smarak Bota by Golaghat Zilla Kabi Chakra on May 6.
A public meeting on the occasion is also going to be held at the Sahityacharja Sayed Abdul Malik Bhawan, Golaghat under the presidentship of Upen Dutta, president GZKC and will be addressed by Ponaram Barua, ex-professor and social worker, Keshob Saikia, president, Golaghat District Sahitya Sabha, Dr Anil Saikia, Dr T Bhuyan and Anupjyoti Saikia, DIPRO and Aroti Saikia, a prominent writer.
A souvenir Kabita samoyiki edited by Juna Barua will be released by Dr Ajit Barua, a prominent writer and chairman of GMB. Late Lalit Barua was the founder seretary and president of Golaghat Zilla Kabi Chakra which was founded in 1970. The award was instituted by Golaghat Zilla Kabi Chakra.
