GUWAHATI, Sept 25 - City-based conservation NGO Aaranyak on Thursday received the Sansad Adarsha Gram Yojana-Good Practices Award from the Ministry of Rural Development, Government of India, during an event held in Bhopal, Madhya Pradesh.
The award was conferred for �Traditional Community Managed Irrigation System in Subankhata, Baksa district, Assam,� jointly to Aaranyak and the Uttar Ancholik Dong Bundh Committee (UADBC), Subankhata.
Aaranyak�s Bipul Das received the award from Birendra Singh, Union Minister of Rural Development. Aaranyak and UADBC are also attending a national workshop on �Good Practices in Rural Development Sector,� in Bhopal.
