JAMUGURIHAT, Oct 11 - Kshiradhar Baruah, a prominent Chemistry teacher and a worthy son of Jamugurihat (presently settled at Biswanath Chariali), and a retired Chemistry professor at Biswanath College, Biswanath Chariali has been selected for PR Sing Award by the All India Association of Chemistry Teachers Mumbai for 2016. He has been selected for the award for his �Outstanding contribution to Chemistry Education of India� along with five other teachers of India including Dr Chitrani Chaudhury, professor Chemistry, Gauhati University as the best female Chemistry teacher.

Baruah�s untiring efforts in popularising science among the masses, has won him the National Award in popularising science writing. He has nine popular chemistry books to his credit. He is also a lexicographer and a translator. With his own initiative, planning and financial contribution, he is managing a children�s science environment education centre named Akash at Biswanath Chariali. The award will be presented to him on October 21 at Kolkata.
