AVS founders� day celebration from Nov 12

TEZPUR, Nov 8 � The Assam Valley School at Balipara near here is all set to celebrate the founders� day from November 12 with a three-day programme on completion of 15 years.

Briefing media persons on Saturday, the headmaster of the school, DNA Mountford informed that the founders� day programme would begin with the founders� day special assembly at the Williamson Magor Hall with the screening of the AVS documentary at 9 am which will be followed by the inauguration of the AVS fitness centre at the sports complex and the exhibition and Hindi street play at the main school building, alumni versus AVS basketball match, AVS Dance School presentation at the Williamson Magor Hall, parents- teachers� meeting for Class X and XII, Junior School Society presentation at the Williamson Magor Hall, presentation of Assamese ballet etc.

The next day�s highlight is the reopening of exihibition at 9.45 am and carriers� rendezvous at 10 am. It will be followed by a music concert by the Western & Indian Music School at the Williamson Magor Hall, annual athletics championships, etc.

To conclude the day�s programme, the Senior Dramatic Society�s production will be presented at 7 pm.

On the last day of the programme on November 14, the exhibition will be reopened at 9.45 am. It will be followed by the annual founders� day address by the chairman of the governing body, headmaster, chief guest, school captain, head boy and head girl.

The headmaster of the school informed that Salman Hyder, former Foreign Secretary and India�s High Commissioner to many foreign countries, has consented to attend the annual founders� day address programme as the chief guest. Assam DGP Sankar Baruah will be the chief guest of the annual athletics� day on November 13.
