Auxillium, Ramakrishna Mission top

SHILLONG, May 19 � In the 10th Board examination, Sourav Pathak from Ramakrishna Mission Higher Secondary School, Cherrapunji topped the merit list with 571 marks, while Amika K War with 431 marks from Auxillium Girls� Higher Secondary School, Shillong topped the 12th Board Arts examinations in the results declared today.

The second position in the 10th board exams was taken by Subhendu Karmakar of Tura Town Higher Secondary School and the third by Neil Leeson Syiemlieh of Kiddies Corner Secondary School, Shillong.

In the Arts examination, Bethea Meba Aihun K Sohkhlet of St Anthony�s Higher Secondary School, Shillong secured the second rank and Kritika Goenka of St Mary�s College, Shillong secured the third position.

Apart from Ambar Minj from Don Bosco College, Tura, who jointly bagged the 7th position all the other top ten positions were swept by students from schools in the State capital

The examinations were conducted by the Meghalaya Board of School Education (MBOSE.) In the 10th Board examination, as many as 43,631 students sat for the exam and 23,248 passed with an overall percentage of 54.31. However, the pass percentage of regular students was way higher at 81.57 per cent.

In the Arts examination, of the 21,611 students, 14,235 passed with an overall percentage of 68.13. But the pass percentage of regular students was higher at 79.37 per cent.
