MUMBAI, July 22 (PTI): Atletico de Kolkata today signed seven Indian players on day one of the two-day inaugural eight-team Hero Indian Super League domestic players draft held here.
Atletico de Kolkata signed up Arnab Mondal, Mohammed Rafi, Mohammed Rafique, Rakesh Masih, Cavin Lobo, Biswajit Saha and Denzil Franco.
The club is looking forward to the day-two of the draft to hand-pick the rest of its domestic players. A total of 42 players were up for grabs and will see 42 more tomorrow to choose from.
Atletico de Kolkata have already roped in its marquee player Luis Garcia, signed on Borja Fernandes, employed Antonio Lopez Habas as its head coach and appointed Jose Ramirez Barreto as the assistant coach of the team. The international players� draft scheduled next month will feature 49 players.
Atl�tico de Kolkata is the first franchise to be launched among the eight city franchisees of the Indian Super League.
