KOLKATA, Nov. 18 - Canadian striker Iain Hume produced the match-winner for Atletico de Kolkata in the 63rd minute against Chennaiyin FC in the ISL-2 match at the Salt Lake Stadium here on Wednesday. The two teams were tied 1-1 at half-time with the visiting side scoring through Raphael Augusto and hosts replying through Sameegh Doutie.

Watched by 35,437 spectators, the fifth victory lifted defending champion to 17 points and a step closer to the knockout phase while Chennaiyin tasted their sixth loss in 10 games to be on 10 points.

Desperate for a victory after a string of losses, Chennaiyin FC played with plan and purpose against ATK to put the home side under pressure in the opening half. Brazilian Augusto played like a possessed man in the midfield and his promtings kept the visitors on the attack.

Halfway past the first half the Brazilian produced the magic moment for the Chennai team with a fine goal in the 26th minute. Latching on to a Fikru pass in the middle, Augusto went past three ATK defenders before placing home an angular shot. The last two ATK defenders, Augustine Fernandes and Arnab Mondal, failed to clear the ball on the slide and allowed Augusto to score.
