ATASU rally demands bill withdrawal

SIVASAGAR, Jan 30 - Thousands of people took part in a massive rally organised by ATASU, at the Boarding Field, Sivasagar on Tuesday in protest against the CAB and demanded implementation of proposed Sixth Schedule for the six ethnic groups. Aswini Chetia, chief adviser, ATASU, said that if the Centre goes ahead with the controversial Bill, another phase of atrocities on the Assamese people will begin which will be worse than what the Burmese did.

He cautioned the NDA government of playing the dilly-dallying game like the Congress in respect to demand of granting ST status to six ethnic groups.

Little Borgohain, president, ATASU, said that with the continuous neglect of the cause of the six ethnic groups,the situation in Assam will be worse than what it is today. Debojit Dutta, president, Sangrami Yuva Chatra Parishad, called upon all to lend their support in averting the crisis brought about by the CAB.
