KALAIGAON, Sept 9 - A daylong workshop on astronomy activities was held at Arunodoi Junior College, Tangla, recently. It was jointly organised by Udalguri district Aryabhatta Science Centres and Arunodoi Academy JR College, in association with Pragjyotish Amateur Astronomers� Association, Guwahati Planetarium.
The workshop was backed by Department of Science and Technology, Assam Government. More than 500 students and teachers of various schools and colleges of Tangla took part in the workshop.
Nabin Chandra Boro, Inspector of Schools, Udalguri district, formally inaugurated the event at around 11 am while Arup Kumar Sarma, SDO (Civil), Bhergaon subdivision, attended the inaugural session as the chief guest.
Speaking on the occasion, Sarma expressed his satisfaction for organising the astronomical workshop at Tangla for students and teachers.
