Assamese researcher presents paper in Sydney

GUWAHATI, Oct 26 - Researcher Dr Hironmoni Borgohain Gogoi, Associate Professor (retired) Namrup College and secretary, Sonali Probhat (an NGO) participated in an international symposium held at Sydney University, Australia recently, a press release stated.

Dr Gogoi�s paper entitled �The Thailand � Northeast India Connect with special emphasis on the Tourism Sector� attempted to trace the connection of North East with the South East Asian culture and tried to delve upon how this can be capitalised for tourism through collaboration between NE Indian State Governments, the Central Government and the Thai Government, keeping in mind India�s Act East Policy and Thailand�s Look West Policy. Her paper received good critical acclaim and she was the only participant from India presenting the issues of her region before an international audience.
