GUWAHATI, Jan 20 � Calling for a Congress-free India and Assam, yoga guru Baba Ramdev today said the forthcoming Lok Sabha polls will bring about �unprecedented changes� in the political landscape of the State, while Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi will lose in their own respective constituencies.
�My belief is that in the coming Lok Sabha polls, unprecedented changes will take place in Assam. It will not be surprising if the BJP-led NDA wins at least 15 out of the 25 Lok Sabha seats in the North East,� Ramdev said addressing mediapersons.
Asked about Chief Minister Tarun Gogoi�s claim that the Congress will win at least 12 out of the 14 Parliamentary seats from Assam, Ramdev said, �Even Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi will lose the elections from their respective seats. Then how will the Congress win in Assam.�
He added in a lighter note, �After the polls, Sonia Gandhi and Rahul Gandhi will flee to Italy.�
Asked what will be Gogoi�s fate in such circumstance, the yoga exponent said, �He will also go to Rahul Gandhi�s maternal uncle�s place.�
Ramdev accused the Congress of pandering to �vote-bank� politics and compromising with the country�s sovereignty and of indulging in �loot and corruption� in the last six-and-a-half decades.
�Not even half of the Centre�s funding is utilized by the State Government. If the entire amount is spent properly, problems of unemployment, security and development will cease to exist in the State. Assam is a resource-rich State but misrule by successive Congress regimes has brought the State to its present position,� he said.
Calling for non-Congress regimes in both the Centre and Dispur, he said only the elevation of Narendra Modi as Prime Minister and of a BJP or BJP-allied government in Assam will solve the problems.
Terming the issue of illegal immigration as a �national issue�, as there are around 3-4 crore such people across the country, Ramdev said, �Congress is protecting and patronizing the illegal Bangladeshi immigrants.�
He added, �We are not against Muslims. Congress is badmaas. It is giving Aadhar cards and other documents to the illegal immigrants and compromising with the country�s security and sovereignty. If Assam is not safe, India cannot be safe because Assam symbolizes the country�s unity in diversity.�
