Assam Tribune Edufair opens in Shillong

SHILLONG, May 13 - The two-day Assam Tribune Edufair 2016 which began here today, had several new and prominent institutions taking part in it. Along with some of the top educational institutions that participate in the Edufair annually, this year the Tata Institute of Social Sciences (TISS) and Swarnabhoomi Academy of Music also took part in the Fair.

TISS is a school of vocational education under Ministry of Human Resources Development and All India Council for Technical Education.

The institution provides bachelor�s degree in agriculture, food processing, and diplomas in agri-farm management, agri-marketing, business and finance.

The Chennai-based Swarna-bhoomi Academy of Music provides music programmes. Several prominent musicians from around the world are its faculty members.

Some of the other top Universities include Royal Group of Institutions, Institute of Company Secretaries of India, Amity University Kolkata, Chandigarh University, Ecole Hoteliere, Lavasa, Pune and East Point Group of Institutions, Bengaluru.

Despite inclement weather, students and parents thronged the stalls in large numbers.
