Assam Tourism road show in Mumbai

GUWAHATI, Sept 8 � Assam Tourism put up a road show in Mumbai and won the overall best presentation award in India International Travel Mart held at Bandra-Kurla Complex, Mumbai which concluded on September 5. Assam Tourism also organised a road show on September 3 which was attended by HS Das, Principal Secretary, Tourism, LS Changsan, Commissioner, Tourism, TY Das, Principal Secretary to the Chief Minister, Monalisa Goswami, Director, Tourism, Assam and a group of tour operators from Assam. This was stated in a press release.

A well-formatted road show was organised as a curtain raiser of the Department�s participation in the IITM, Mumbai.

The road show attracted a large number of tour operators from Mumbai and media persons from TV channels, newspapers and travel trade magazines. The road show started with an inaugural speech by HS Das which touched upon every positive facts of Assam Tourism, Assam Tourism products, its policy and the improving infrastructure and favourable law and order scenario of the state.

A highly-informative and visually-packed presentation highlighting the tourism product profile of the State, accommodation facilities, air connectivity and tourist footfalls trends for the last 10 years brought the jam packed hall to pin-drop silence, the release added.

There were interactive sessions between Maharashtra Tour Operators Association members and Assam Tour Operators Association�s delegation as well as interactions with the Principal Secretary, Commissioner Director of Tourism and Assam Tour Operators Association members during the road show. A performance of Bihu troupe and Satriya dance further enthralled the audience during the road show.

On the other hand, in the exhibition ground where Assam Tourism put up a well decorated stall to showcase and promote the state�s tourism products Assam generated huge footfalls of tour operators from Maharashtra region as well as individual visitors. Around 200 participants from India and abroad participated in the IITM exhibition. Assam bagged the best overall presentation award which was received by the Director, Tourism, the release further said.
