IMPHAL, Oct 29 - Host Manipur will meet Assam in both Senior and Junior team�s finals in the ongoing 4-day North East Zone Inter State Badminton Championship which began here in Imphal yesterday. In the semifinal matches, host Manipur beat Mizoram 3-2 (senior team), Arunachal Pradesh 3-2 (junior team) while Assam beat Meghalaya 3-0 (senior team), Sikkim 3-0 (junior team).

In semifinals of the senior team: (Men�s single) Manipur�s L Unilkumar beat Mizoram�s Samuel Lal 21-13, 23-21 while Assam�s Harakjyoti Neog beat Meghalaya�s Ram Najir 21-14, 21-12. (Women�s single) Manipur�s N Angita lost to Mizoram�s VL Hariapuii 22-24, 21-16 while Assam�s Ashmita Chaliha beat Meghalaya�s Preety Singh 21-11, 21-7. (Men�s doubles) Manipur�s W James/RK Cinir beat Mizoram�s Lalmuanawma/Zudinmwia 24-22, 21-16 while Assam�s Anjan Buragohain/Ranjan Burgohain beat Ram Najiar/P Joshi 21-12, 21-10. (Women�s double) Manipur�s N Purnima/M Somibala lost to VL Hriatpuii/Lalrinzuali 21-18, 16-21, 18-21 (Mixed double) Manipur�s W James/N Purnima beat Zodinmawia/Lalrinzuali 21-10, 21-14.

In semi-finals of the Junior team: :(Boy�s single) Arunachal Pradesh�s Laa Talar beat Manipur�s L Unilkumar 24-22, 21-16 while Assam�s Orijit Chaliha beat Sikkim�s Ashitosh Tiwari 21-7, 21-8, (Girl�s single) Arunachal Pradesh�s Laa Yajum beat Manipur�s N Angita 23-21, 21-19, 21-14 while Assam�s Ashmita Chalia beat Sikkim�s Salina Rai 21-2, 21-4.

(Boy�s double) Manipur�s K Manjit/K Dinku beat Arunachal Pradesh�s Laa Talar/Jokom Ribya 21-16,23-21 while Assam�s Rishav/Rajeshkhar beat Sikkim�s Alfonso Garmer/Sahil Pradhan 21-8, 21-12, (Girls double) Manipur�s N Purnima/M Somibala beat Pinky Karki/Taring Yanya of Arunachal Pradesh 21-6, 20-22, 21-15 (Mixed double) Manipur�s L Unilkumar / M Somibala beat Arunachal Pradesh�s Akshay Raito/Taring Yanya 16-21, 21-10, 21-17.
