TINSUKIA, Oct 24 - Assam gathered 192 runs in 62.2 overs on the opening day of the 4-day U-23 Col CK Nayudu Trophy Group B match against Karnataka.
At the Tinsukia District Sports Association�s Katchujan Field here today, Karnataka asked the host team to bat first and took control of the situation claiming wickets at regular intervals. However, Sunzow Brahma (60) Rajjakuddin Ahmed (35) and Mrinmoy Dutta (25) managed to give the Assam total some respectability.
For Karnataka, Prateek Jain and Naveen MG claimed three wickets each giving away 47 and 29 runs respectively while Suchith J claimed 2 wickets for 38.
At stumps Karnataka were 65 for one in 26 overs. Opener Abhinav Manohar (26) was the lone Karnataka batsman to fall today. Other opener Nichal D (39) and V R Milind (0) are at the crease when stumps were drawn for the day.
