Assam rout Jharkhand in women cricket

GUWAHATI, Oct 11 � Assam recorded its second consecutive victory in the East Zone Women U-19 Cricket Championship.

At the Nehru Stadium here today, Assam trounced Jharkhand by six wickets and earned five points, including a bonous point from this match. Now Assam have collected 10 points from two points and virtually confirmed a berth for the inter zonal stage from the East Zone.

Restricting the opponent to a paltry 46 in 40.2 overs, Assam smacked 47 losing four wickets in just 18.3 overs. Opener Deboshree Konwar top scored with 21. Earlier, Monisha Das came out with a rich four-wicket haul while M Leima Shanu scalped three.

Tripura prevail over Orissa: At NF Railway Stadium, Maligaon, Tripura defeated Orissa by 28 runs. In reply to Tripura�s 108 for eight in 50 overs, Orissa were all out for 80 in 40.1 overs.
